Metrocable San Agustín cable car

Metrocable San Austin opened on January 20, 2010; it is located in San Agustin del Sur. It is a non-conventional public means of transport: Funiculars connected to a cable system that allows passengers to reach otherwise communities of difficult access. Metrocable connects to metro system through Parque Central station.

This means of transport covers a route of 1.8 km (0.62 mi) in five stations: Parque Central, Hornos de Cal, La Ceiba, El Manguito and San Austin. It moves up to 1,500 people per hour and about 15,000 per day.

In 2007 Telematica was hired by the company in charge of the works: Constructora Norberto Odebrecht, to supply, install, test and commission the electro-mechanical systems. From May 2008 on we did works on auxiliary power systemr, ventilation, air conditioning and lifting (elevators).

At the same time, we supplied, installed, tested and commissioned the telecommunication systems (public address and passenger informatios systems).
