Metrocable de Mariche is a cable car system built to serve inhabitants of the mountain popular communities. It allows them to commute easily to the city and then transfer to Metro.
This transport system opened in December 2012. It covers two routes: Palo Verde - Filas de Mariche (Express route); and Palo Verde – Guaicoco - La Dolorita (Local route). It covers 4.8 km (2.98 mi). Currently only the express route is in service. It can serve up to 3,000 passengers per hour, about 30,000 passengers per day.
From April 2008 Telematica was hired by Constructora Norberto Odebrecht, to supply, install, test and commission the electromechanical systems. On that contract, we did the work related to auxiliary power system, ventilation, air conditioning, lifting (elevators), and fire detection and prevention.
At the same time, we supplied, installed, tested and commissioned the public address and passenger information systems. Also, we installed and commissioned all the telecommunications systems.
